On January 20, we celebrate the miraculous conversion of a wealthy Jew to the Catholic Church

His name was Alphonse Ratisbonne.  The year was 1842.

The 28 year old Jew was converted to the Catholic Church in one fulminating blow; at the moment that the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to him in the Basilica of St. Andrea delle Fratte in Rome.
